"Athena" is a system that has been designed to allow mobile workers such as engineers to receive information about tasks remotely, and in realtime*. This gives the engineer the ability to respond rapidly to urgent tasks.

When a job is completed on the device the system at the central office is updated almost immediately, this provides enhanced control over customer response times and allows for better customer management.

The system also allows for the capture of customer signatures for proof of completion.

Thanks to the use of the latest technologies as an interface Athena can be integrated with any existing system** without the need for any modifcations.

Athena is also available as a service. The client gains access to the Athena Web Based job system which is used for recording jobs. The device will then receive the job information. The client pays a fee per year for access to the web site and then a per user, per month fee for each PDA***. This charging model removes the need for a large investment in servers and communication links that a small company might not have.

This system is highly configurable and can be adapted to the majority of remote worker situations.

Another device which is to become available in the near future is the new Power Handheld. This device is to be offered by Vodafone. This device will also functions as a mobile phone.

Athena can work with any mobile network provided that it is possible to obtain a device or GPRS card for that network. Currently this covers all of the major networks.

A new improved version of Athena will be release Mid 2006, this will make use of the latest version of the Microsoft .Net framework and SQL Server 2005.
