Smart Panels are information displays that can be located in a building, shopping mall or other public location. They are a self contained PC that communicates with a central location via a netwok. The Timewave Smart Panel system can display information defined by the customer, common examples being:

Smart Panels can be connected to an existing system such as a facilities management system to allow for the status of a conference room to be displayed. This can be connected to any system with no impact on the existing system through the use of Web Services technology.

The Timewave Smart Panel contains Timewave's "Where is" system. Through the use of a Knowledge Based System it is possible for a user to access the panel and ask questions such as:

Where is the nearest toilet? Where is the nearest coffee machine? Where is shop x?

The Smart Panel will then display directions to that location.
